Netherlands coach Sarina Wiegman has revealed the 23 names she is taking to France this summer for the Women’s World Cup - as well as seven on the standby list. The preliminary squad includes Stefanie van der Gragt (FC Barcelona) and Victoria Pelova (ADO Den Haag).
Both players missed the two friendlies this past week due to injuries. The Netherlands beat Mexico 2-0 on Friday and Chile 7-0 on Tuesday. Defender Van der Gragt and midfielder Pelova are on their way back from an upper leg injury and a shoulder injury respectively.

The following seven players are on the standby list: Cheyenne van den Goorbergh (FC Twente Enschede), Barbara Lorsheyd (ADO Den Haag), Aniek Nouwen (PSV Eindhoven), Katja Snoeijs (PSV Eindhoven), Ashleigh Weerden (FC Twente Enschede), Jennifer Vreugdenhil (Valencia) and Siri Worm (Everton).
The official list of 23 players, including their numbers, must be sent to football’s world governing body FIFA by Friday, 24 May. In case of (serious) injuries, Wiegman will be allowed to make changes to the squad up to 24 hours before the first World Cup group match against New Zealand.
This year’s Women’s World Cup finals will be held in France from 7 June to 7 July. In the group stage, the Netherlands will face:

Just before leaving for France, the Netherlands will play their final pre-World Cup friendly against Australia, who have also qualified for the finals. The match between the Orange Lionesses and the "Matildas" is scheduled in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven on Saturday, 1 June. Kick-off at 6.15 pm.
